Temenos-Sacred Vessel or Space between two people that is safe and a person has room to grow and develop. Also in line with keeping privacy.
Thinking-Rational & Judging function of the Psyche. Thinking judges something by evaluating something through objectifying it impersonally by giving something a name and classifying into a rational system where something can be analyzed like it Justice system. Analysis is a process where something is broken down into its separate parts to be put into interpretation. Thinking is part of the Cognitive process and related to Logos. Roughly mapped to the concept of Dharma in which impersonal decisions are being taking place and doing what is most intelligent and just. Dharma is also closely related to Law.
Time-Time is a human concept that is usually divided into 2 types of time. The first linear time which is based on spatial aspects founded on Astronomy and let’s us keep track of History and Events. It is related to the God Chronos. The Second which is related to the God Kairos is the Now time that is present everywhere. Even though it is 9 am in New York and 6 am in California it is still an event can be experience at the same moment that doesn’t lineup with linear time. Humans with their reflective capacity appear to be the only animal that determine time by spatial attributes.
Transcendent function-The Mediating and Regulating Psychic function that goes between the Conscious and Unconscious and resolves or unites the tension of opposites and creates new Psychic Content or Attitudes that emerges via the Symbol. Jungian Psychology can be seen as a Transcendent Function between Western and Eastern Spiritualities.
Transference-There can be Positive and Negative forms of Transference.
Positive Transference is felt as kind of affinity with one an other to which Jung called the Kinship Libido. Negative Transference may result in the Projection of Unconscious repressed emotions from Childhood and Parental Imagos onto another person. For example the Man may project his Anima which was formed by the Mother onto his Wife and become moody whenever the Wife isn’t in line with the Mother Imago. Or the Woman projects her Animus onto the Teacher and starts to see him as a Father figure or Guru and so on. Anytime you are defending yourself you are in a transference and you are protecting yourself from the confrontation of someone else’s Unconscious.
The Transference God-Where one projects the Imago of the Father mainly but also the Mother on to God. This was a useful aspect of Christianity and Christian Psychology for removing complexes of the Father and Mother by projecting onto God the Father and the Church Mother and that was the reason people got into Spirituality in the first place. Freud argued that people didn’t actually want or need God they just wanted to remove the projection of the parental imagos. This indeed happens but the issue with that is the connection to the divine comes to a halt and the person will find a new neurosis to fantasize and project about. Jung suggested to keep after the Spirituality and be open to the possibility that you just might not know everything yet and that new insights might come if we just kept pursuing it.
Trinity-Idea that God is manifested in three different aspects but remains one. The number three is a number of consciousness. The fourth thing is lacking, and the number four is a number of wholeness. The Trinitarian thinking shows up in axioms like “Body, Mind, Soul,” or “Live, Laugh, Learn.” Trinitarian thinking often leads to a Dogma.
Type-Habitual observable pattern where one attitude and one function dominate the person’s conscious orientation and orders their experience. Most people often say often say that are both Introverted and Extraverted. This is true to some extent but the distinction is made between which is the conscious attitude and which is the unconscious attitude. Everyone has a natural flow of Psychic Energy to which is Introverted or Extraverted and one may either or at different periods of life. Deviation of natural type is due to parental or environmental influences and leads to neurotic conflicts or symptoms later in life. Emotion can be contained in one of the four functions. So one can be an Emotional Thinking type and an Unemotional Feeling Type. Will and Memory are secondary manifestations and don’t always order our experience like the functions do. The Judging function is
concerned with what motivates Psychic processes and the Perceiving functions are concerned with recording it.
Typology-Classifications of repetitive patterns in the Psyche used for the study of Psychic Energy and Consciousness. Good to see Typology in terms of how it connects to the Self, the Conscious and Unconscious Totality.
